I have experienced life in and outside of work in creative ways.
Laying the base with music...
My journey with music began in 4th grade when I learned and played the clarinet (a woodwind family instrument) and continued through high school graduation.
In my senior year of high school, I learned to play the euphonium (a brass family instrument that looks like a small concert tuba) to help round out the sound of our concert band. I then continued playing for 2 years in the marching band (in the form of a baritone horn, the marching band version of the euphonium) at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.
The one constant instrument in my life is my voice; beginning with choirs in middle school throughout my adult life. I read music and sight read fairly well (an especially essential skill for a choir member).
I "found my instrument" in the summer of 2023 when I learned to play the ukulele in a group class at my local library. It makes me so happy to learn new songs, to play with different groups, harmonize whenever I can, and sing and write songs with Phul ("flower" in Punjabi), my ukulele.
My name is Grace Rosenback.
In college I was a member of the Program Council for the Student Centers at Rutgers College. I started as a member on the PR Committee and then served as the Visual Arts Chair, a role in which I solicited, interviewed, then organized showings at the Student Center Art Gallery, as well as brainstormed and advertised events to the student body (ie, Sand Art events, an Art and Architecture of SoHo Tour). In that role, I also volunteered to assist with other committees’ events (ie, concerts, movies, karaoke).
When "The Gap Commercial" was launched featuring swing dancers performing lifts and other acrobatics, I was enthralled. The music was upbeat, the dance itself was often intense aerobic exercise, but it was also incredibly fun. I learned Lindy Hop and aerials (and subsequently other style variations under the umbrella of "swing dancing") and went social dancing. Eventually, I had a steady dance partner and we joined and competed as part of a Team (and as a couple).
Vibration and frequency are the building blocks to health. Nikola Tesla is quoted as saying, "If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.”
I received a Sound Healing Certification from The Soul of Yoga Sound Institute in Encinitas, CA. To this day, continuing research is discovering the powerful effects of directed frequency and vibration (“sound”) on human illnesses. The human body is approximately 50% to 60% water so in turn has a direct response to frequency and vibration.
My design journey has taken me from designing and printing 35-mm slides for Grand Rounds at UMDNJ (now known as the New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ) through working closely with senior team members to pitch creative and strategic ideas to prospective clients in various industries.
My early education in presentation design came directly from learning on-the-job. My supervisors and inquisitive nature helped me to hone my skills from the basics. In time, I took one-off design courses at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York City, which culminated in completing the Digital Design Certification at the San Diego Continuing Education [SDCE] (now known as San Diego College of Continuing Education [SDCCE]). I continue to learn, including gaining inspiration and knowledge from the vast amount of content available online.
At Havas Health & You and Tata Consultancy Services Inc (both entities within global conglomerates; Havas based in France, Tata based in India), I assisted in refining and defining processes, created guides to teach incoming junior designers to better understand, utilize, and implement design tools with regard to branding elements like logos, color palettes, shapes, and themes. I also recorded training videos and hosted training sessions to help teams effectively implement brand guidelines.
While serving for over 2 years as volunteer Secretary on the Board of Directors for Team SoCal (a group of organ transplant living donors, recipients, supporters, and healthcare professionals who represent Southern California at the biennial Transplant Games of America, a social “Olympic-style” event that brings together the transplant community from across the US and beyond), I researched, interviewed, copy edited, and designed social media graphics, email templates, brochures, and booklets. The work I created for Team SoCal (from August 2021 through May 2024) included designing the Games booklet, a golf tournament program, scorecards, and sponsor hole signs, fliers, Team trading pins, maintaining the Team website, and organizing branding assets, elements, and communications on the Team’s Google Drive and Canva accounts. Communicating directly with vendors was an essential part of my responsibilities as well as assisting in organizing fundraising events like the Team’s first golf tournament.
I am a multi-year post heart transplant recipient and am grateful every moment of every day for the second chance life I have received. Please consider registering to become an organ donor and give the gift of life.
